What is Hammersmith Management’s Dress Code?

Work attire should complement an environment that reflects an efficient, orderly and professionally operated organization. Employees are encouraged to dress in a neat, safe, professional manner that conveys a friendly and positive image of Hammersmith Management, Inc.

Dress Code (Monday through Thursday—All Employees)

Work attire should complement an environment that reflects an efficient, orderly and professionally operated organization. Employees are encouraged to dress in a neat, safe, professional manner that conveys a friendly and positive image of Hammersmith Management, Inc. To carry out the Company’s objectives in presenting a professional image, the Company encourages employees to adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Hair must be neatly styled and in good taste. Men’s hair: length no longer than shoulder length, pony tails not allowed.
  2. Heavily scented perfumes, powders and colognes, heavy makeup, inappropriate jewelry or accessories are not allowed.
  3. Torn or worn through clothing is not allowed.
  4. Tank tops, tube tops, T-shirts, halter-tops, mini skirts, skorts, spandex exercise clothing, sweat pants, running/wind pants, jeans and/or denim, sheer/see through fabrics, low-cut backless tops/dresses, sundresses are not allowed.
  5. Skirts and dresses must be no more than 3 inches above the knees; Professional Capri, Crop or Gaucho Pantsuits and Capri, Crop, and Gaucho dress pants worn with a blazer and dress shoes/sandals are allowed. Capri and Crop pants must fall just below the knees.
  6. Footwear must be appropriate for the business environment. Casual sandals, hiking boots, and tennis shoes are not allowed (except on casual day, see below). Shoes must be worn at all times in the office.
  7. Body piercing and tattoos must not be visible. Earrings for men are not allowed during business hours.

Appropriate Meeting Attire

The purpose of these guidelines is to offer employees flexibility and comfort on the job while displaying a professional image. Employees are expected to dress according to the requirements of their positions with the various levels of public/customer contact. The following is appropriate and acceptable professional business attire:

  • Women’s business attire: suits, dresses/skirts (no shorter than 3 inches above the knee), dress slacks, sweaters, blouses. No sleeveless dresses or tops unless covered by a jacket.
  • Men’s business attire: suits, dress slacks, shirts w/collar, tie and/or jacket. A turtleneck sweater may be worn with a jacket, providing the jacket is worn throughout the meeting.

Appropriate Property Inspection Dress

Casual slacks, capri pants, walking/golf shorts, (no shorter than 3 inches above the knee, no cut offs or denim), jeans, skorts, blouses, shirts w/collars, sweaters, knit tops (no torso exposure) and polo shirts. This attire can be worn in the office no more than two hours before or after an inspection. A change of clothing is appropriate if you are in the office beyond the times set forth herein.

Friday Casual Day Dress

No t-shirts or midriff type shirts or blouses. The following are the items allowed on casual day. Jeans, must not be faded, torn, or oversized and baggy. Capri pants, casual slacks, polo shirts, blouses, and ladies knitted tops (no torso exposure). Casual sandals, tennis shoes and hiking boots are acceptable on Casual Fridays only, providing they are clean and in good condition. (Flip-flops are not allowed).

Sports jerseys and sports sweatshirts may be worn during the fall and winter seasons providing they are non-offensive and in good condition.

Note: An employee who reports to work improperly dressed will be subject to disciplinary action and may be sent home and directed to return to work promptly in proper attire. Employees will not be compensated for their time away from work.
