How do I setup a 5330e phone for In Network – Mitel?

How to Set up a new 5330e mitel phone on our Network

 

Mitel 5320e

Add the phone to the Mitel system.

go to system>devices & feature codes>phones>local

right click, select Create 52xx/53xx

this is different than the regular phones. the old phones are 86xx, the 5330e phone you select 52xx/53xx.

select your extension you want. you don’t input the MAC address – it will get it form the pin procedure below. it has a check.  mark for Use PIN Registration – ensure this is checked.

go to the phone and boot it.

 

As phone boots, Hold 7 to go to Teleworker Mode

enter # for new

select IPv4

enter the tele gateway – which is 192.168.020.246 (enter the full address with the leading zero)

press the down arrow to accept it.

This enables DHCP on the phone.

it will say “Press HOLD to Send Pin”

press 3 stars plus the extension number. ex: ***extnumber. example: **125 or ***459

then press the red HOLD button. it will reboot several times and then grab its IP.

 

Then go back into the phone system, and change the flags for

Everybody:

Handsfree to NO

Hunt Group Camp-on Audio Indications to NO

Send alert burst to headset – yes,

Headset On/Off – yes

Headset connect tone – yes

DND override – yes.

 

Set forward path to 1 for voicemail.

Set the key map for Client services to 12, supervisors to 13, regular users is default

also export the data to Co Springs mitel.

 

Add the voicemail to the mailboxes section:

Voice processor>devices>mailboxes>local

Right click> create assoc mailbox>52xx/53xx

Select the new ext, and add items>finish

Select the new ext and set the vm password to the ext.]

 

Go to trunk related info, #1 and set the DID for your new ext if it has DID  (400-500’s, not 100’s)

You are finished.

 

If for some reason you need a static IP on a phone:

Static IP set up:

as phone boots, hold the Blue Settings Button

or hold both volume buttons down. this will enter programm/manual set up mode.

program Config, Network.

press # to advance, * to go back.

this will allow you to set a static IP, and a Gateway.

If you are setting this phone up on-site at an association, you will need to set the gateway to their gateway.

the remote IPC is our server 192.168.020.246 (the mitel system at DTC)

Once the phone is in the mitel system,

1. set the forwarding path to 1
2. set the flag to remove hunt group camp on audio indications
3. set the flag to set handsfree on/off to NO
4. set the DID on the phone to the extension – trunk related info>call routing tables>1>find the full phone #>change the ring in destination to the new ext.
5. add the new ext to the voicemail mailboxes – voice processor>devices>mailboxes>local>right click, add assoc mailbox. select the type of phone 52xx/53xx. select the ext and add items. then set the vm password.

To set a phone back to factory default – (rare)

hold down the DOWN arrow button as it boots.

Select yes to the config and network changes.
