How to set up an IP phone version 5330e (mitel) for a Remote site – Off-Network

For at an assocaition or home

These instructions are for the 5330e ONLY.  Not the 86xx

  1. Input the phone into the Mitel system manually – do not use teleworker/PIN set up.  Input the MAC address of the phone.   please see other article for manual phone set up in the 5000 mitel system.
  2. Go to the phone ext in devices and feature codes.
  3. Go to IP settings and turn the NAT from Native to NAT.  This is important.  Audio won’t work on the phone unless this is set!
  4. Plug in the phone to a network outside of the Hammersmith Network.  Do this at home, or there is a comcast router in the IDE room.
  5. As the phone boots, Hold down the Blue Settings button or Both Volume Buttons.  This will enter into programming mode.
  6. Select Programming Phone
  7. Use the * and # buttons to select IPV4 settings.  Enter programming mode with the * key
  8. You don’t need to input any IP, subnet or gateway.  Leave these blank.
  9. You will reach the TFTP Server:  enter 67.136.186.100
  10. You will also reach the TCP IP Server:  enter 67.136.186.100
  11. Phone will reboot and update its flash etc.
