Requirements
Obtain Fingerprints prior to first day of employment Prior to 1st day of employment

Obtain PCAM® and maintain PCAM® designation, including meeting education requirements DOCA – Within 3-5 years of employment

Registrations and Payments

It is the responsibility of the employee to ensure they meet the requirements of their position, including licensing, credentials, memberships, continuing education courses, showcases, roundtables, and lunch & learns, with the exception of the CAI membership. Employees should complete all registrations, applications, and renewals and submit payment directly to CAI, CAMICB, DORA, and other providers for all other education. Employee should contact Human Resources upon new employment with Hammersmith to apply for the CAI membership. Human Resources will handle all applications and renewals of CAI memberships, which run on a September renewal schedule.

Employees can receive reimbursement for job-related education expenses up to $750/year with advance approval from their supervisor. In the first year of employment, employees may receive an exception over the yearly limit in order to meet requirements. Employees must sign the Hammersmith® Course Reimbursement Acknowledgement Form and submit with proof of application and/or receipts to their DOCA for reimbursement.

Employees may contact their DOCA if they are having issues making payments in advance of reimbursement. Employees can provide their signed Hammersmith® Course Reimbursement Acknowledgement Form directly to their DOCA if their DOCA makes a payment for them.

The DOCA will be responsible for submitting the Hammersmith® Course Reimbursement Acknowledgement Form and receipts to Human Resources and Payroll. Payroll will not accept education and related expenses without the signed the Hammersmith® Course Reimbursement Acknowledgement Form.

Human Resources Notification Requirements

The Human Resources department maintains records and tracking for compliance purposes. Employees should provide Human Resources with proof of completion and renewal of their M100 education requirement, CMCA® certification, CAI membership, and AMS® and PCAM® designations (if required for their position). It is the responsibility of the employee and their supervisor to provide Human Resources with up to date records.

Renewals Dates and Requirements

It is the responsibility of the individual to maintain their CAM license, CMCA® certification, CAI membership, and AMS® and PCAM® designations (if required for their position). Employees should ensure they are completing their education requirements in a timely manner. Any employee who allows their CAI membership, CAM license, CMCA® certification, or required designations to lapse or become inactive are subject to disciplinary actions up to and including termination.

CAI Membership Can be renewed 90 days prior to the expiration date and must be renewed annually. Login to the CAI Online account to check your expiration date. Hammersmith handles application and renewal of all CAI memberships on a renewal date of September. Ensure your CAI membership is handled through Human Resources.
CMCA® certification Must be renewed twice a year. You are placed in either an April 1 or an October 1 re-certification cycle when you become certified. Check the status of your CMCA® by logging into your account at CAMICB.
AMS® designation Must be renewed yearly on August 1. Continuing Education requirements must be met every three years.
PCAM® designation Must renewed yearly on August 1. Continuing Education requirements must be met every three years.
