Autism Walk-Boulder
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a growing concern not only in this country, but around the world. It’s estimated that one in 59 children are diagnosed somewhere on the Autism Spectrum; so, chances are you know someone who has been impacted by a this diagnosis. My beautiful son, Carter, is one of those one in 59. He was diagnosed with ASD when he was 18 months old and that’s why any fundraiser that supports Autism Speaks is near and dear to my heart. Now he’s 10 years old, full of spunk and has an amazing little soul. So much of what has made him thrive like he has was directly impacted by the work of Autism Speaks.
Autism Speaks helps provide services and support to families who’s children or other relatives have been diagnosed on the Spectrum. They have respite services, PT, OT, speech and behavioral therapy. They are also an amazing resource for parents – providing educational services, support through connecting parents to one other, and being an international voice for some without one.
