IMPORTANT – New worldwide computer attack. Please Read and be aware!

Many of you may have seen the news this weekend regarding a new computer attack that crippled numerous companies across the world. Criminal hackers have released a new strain of ransomware that spreads itself automatically across all workstations in a network, causing a global epidemic.

IMPORTANT – If you or a co-worker are not paying attention and accidentally open one of these phishing email attachments, you might infect not only your own workstation, but immediately everyone else’s computer too. It is important to contact IT if you have any doubt or questions regarding a file or email you have received.

Be very careful when you get an email with an attachment you did not ask for. If you receive an email with an attachment YOU DID NOT EXPECT OR DO NOT RECOGNIZE, do not click on it but delete the whole email. Remember: When in doubt, do not open and alert IT!

Fortunately, our server systems and network have the important security patches in place to combat this attack as much as possible, however, we must be very aware as to email we receive.We will be performing additional changes and maintenance on our servers over the next few days to try and keep ahead of this issue.
